The Con - How it works
From memory this all began with an unsolicited call from the
aforementioned Victor Martini, which I initially brushed off. No idea where he
got my name and mobile number from, however he mentioned that I had registered
some interest in forex investing (which I had not) and was pretty insistent
that this was a lucrative opportunity.
So basically from what I can work out – and what happed to
me - the idea is that the you get contacted initially by someone offering you
an opportunity to invest, even if it’s a small amount of money, then you get
allocated an agent or ‘account manager’ who will do the investing for you.
Initially only small amounts of money are requested, and profits are made and sent
back to you and they start to earn your trust so you invest larger sums of
money, which then of course they ultimately disappear with.
All transactions are done via Crypto Exchanges (like Kraken
or Binance or whatever) so never bank-to-bank, so once they’ve completed their
dirty deeds, I guess tracing this for any financial recuperation is more
difficult.
